SEMINAR 6 - UN Fashioning OBJECTS

The seminar will begin with an overview of works / blogs / from last week [ download images from performance / event 'Es ist mir egal' - the poster project with Marccel Duchamp's Mile of String as a support [ both intellectually and materially]. The works also refer to Marcel Broodthears 'Silence' performance at Hyde Park Corner [ and a number of other works he made with slogans or titles]. These will be used as ID image thumbnails for each click entry on the website to each participant and their submitted material.

This week will see part 2 - a workshop with objects. I hope all rememnber to bring something either readymade or handmade...we will again redesign the display / and I am bringing fashion magazines and tools for collage. The idea will be to use our own bodies as portable support systems [ to act on objects] and to again photograph the performance of many movements and works made using objects/bodies/images. This will contribute another layer to the series of events planned, which, as each contributes, will configure as a multi-layered exhibition, which plays against fixed ideas about space, subject and object.

Alex Keating will also be present to discuss ideas for the website. The holiday period will leave time for the essay which should be complete by the end of the period away, so that we can assemble the website, with the blog / images/writings and documentation of events/performance. The press relases and preparation for a final launch will be discussed again as a group.
